Volume Control Dampers
Halton & Flamgard Volume Control Dampers
Ducting systems must often provide a method of adjusting the volume of air flow to various parts of the system. High integrity volume control dampers (VCDs; not to be confused with smoke/fire dampers) provide this function. Besides the regulation provided at the registers or diffusers that spread air into individual rooms, dampers can be fitted within the ducts themselves.
These dampers may be manual or automatic. Zone dampers provide automatic control in simple systems while variable air volume (VAV) allows control in sophisticated systems.
CCD-01 – Heavy Duty Control Damper
Flamgard type CCD-01 Heavy Duty Shut-Off and Control Damper has been specifically designed to meet the rigorous duty required in a hazardous environment where robust construction and dependable operation are of prime importance.
- Can also be utilized as an High Integrity Isolation damper and/or Volume control damper
- SIL 2 rated to IEC 62508-2:2010
- ATEX rated
CCD-02 – Medium Duty Control Damper
Flamgard CCD-02 Medium Duty Control Damper has been specifically designed for the industrial market where medium weight, construction and dependable operation are of prime importance. These versatile dampers are suitable for automatic and manual operation and may be used for: system balancing, pressure control, fresh air re circulation and many more functions.
- Can also be utilized as an High Integrity Isolation damper and/or Volume control damper
- SIL 2 rated to IEC 62508-2:2010
- ATEX rated
CCD-C1 – Circular Control Damper
Flamgard type CCD-C1 Circular Control Damper has been designed to fit into circular ductwork systems where space is restricted. These versatile dampers are suitable for automatic and manual control and may be used for fan shut-off, fresh air re circulation and many more functions.
- SIL 2 rated to IEC 62508-2:2010
- ATEX rated
CVD-C1 – Circular Constant Volume Control Damper
Flamgard type CVD-C1 Circular Control Damper has been designed to fit into circular ductwork systems where space is restricted. These versatile dampers are designed to maintain a constant volumetric flow rate. The control system allows for the required flow rate value to be set and can include both upper and lower threshold values.
UTP – Balancing damper
Halton UTP dampers are used to balance airflow rates in high pressure ductwork. Dampers meet international standards for rectangular and round ducts. In the open position, the blades face the direction of flow and do not cause a significant pressure loss.
- Leakage class of a closed damper according to EN 1751:2014 class 1. Tested size 1000×1000 mm
- Classification of casing leakage (EN 1751:2014) class B
UTG – Gastight shut-off damper
Halton UTG dampers are used to shut-off and balance airflow rates in high pressure ductworks. Dampers meet international standards for rectangular and round ducts. In the open position, the blades face the direction of flow and do not cause a significant pressure loss.
- A closed damper fulfils the requirement of leakage class up to class 3 (EN1751:2014). Details available from Halton
- Classification of casing leakage (EN 1751:2014) class B
UTA – Gastight shut-off damper
Halton UTA dampers are used to shut-off and balance airflow rates in high pressure ductworks. Dampers meet international standards for rectangular and round ducts. In the open position, the blades face the direction of flow and do not cause a significant pressure loss. The UTA is used as a shut-off, gas and balancing damper in applications where tightness and reliability are important.
- A closed damper fulfils the requirement of leakage class 3 (EN1751:2014) for size ≥ 300×300 mm (stainless steel seals) and for size ≥ 150×150 mm (silicon seals)
- Classification of casing leakage (EN1751:2014) class C
UTT – Multi-blade airflow management damper
Halton UTT dampers are used to shut off or control airflow in ductwork where tightness, thermal insulation and reliability are important.
In the closed position the Halton UTT damper leakage class is 3 in accordance with the EN1751 standard.
